Mandaram Eco Resort is located approximately 50 km from the city of Kandy. The journey typically takes about 1 hour by car.
Kandy to Padiyapalalla (35 km): The road is well-maintained and smooth.
Padiyapalalla to Elamulla Junction (9 km): A narrower but carpeted road.
Elamulla Junction to our car park (3 km): A narrow concrete road.
Car park to the resort (7 km): A bumpy track where cars cannot drive. For this final stretch, we provide transportation in our Safari Jeep, which adds a unique adventure to your arrival experience.
As for the weather, the resort enjoys a climate similar to Nuwara Eliya, with cool and refreshing temperatures year-round. The coolest period is typically from December to February.
By road, Mandaram Eco Resort is approximately 60 km from Nuwara Eliya, although the resort is directly opposite the mountain when viewed from there.
The journey takes you along the beautiful High Forest Estate Road, which is carpeted but narrow, reflecting its origins as an old estate road developed during the British era. This scenic route offers a charming drive through lush landscapes.
Alternatively, guests may also choose to travel via the Walapane Road, which provides another access option to the resort.
Our standard check-in time is 2:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 AM.
Since we are located on top of the mountain and provide 7 km of Safari Jeep transportation from the car park to the resort, guests are kindly requested to inform us at least one hour before arriving at the car park. This allows us to arrange transportation smoothly and ensure a comfortable arrival experience.
No, we do not allow guests to bring external food for cooking or consumption within the resort. This policy helps us maintain hygiene standards, ensure food safety, and provide a consistent dining experience for all our guests.
We do not sell alcohol at the resort. However, guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages from outside for personal consumption, provided they follow our resort guidelines regarding responsible use.

Our resort is located at a very high mountain elevation, and the access road may not be suitable for pregnant women or very elderly guests. We kindly advise such guests to carefully consider these conditions before planning their visit, as the journey may be physically demanding.
There is no hospital located very close to the resort. The nearest hospital is approximately 15 km away, and traveling there may take some time due to the mountain roads. We recommend that guests with medical needs plan accordingly before their visit.
Large sound systems are not allowed in public areas unless you have booked the entire resort. However, you are welcome to play music inside your villa, provided it does not disturb other guests.
The last 7 km of the road leading to the resort is narrow and off-road. If you have a high ground clearance jeep, you may be able to drive up to the resort. However, please note that driving on this road is not easy and can be challenging, so we recommend using our arranged transportation for a safer and more comfortable journey.
Yes, we do. From our car park, we provide safari jeep transportation free of charge. The journey from the car park to the resort is approximately 7 km and offers a wonderful experience with breathtaking views along the way.
We do not organize separate safari tours. Most safari tours in the area naturally pass by our resort, and nearby attractions such as waterfalls are within walking distance. Therefore, additional safari tours are not required for guests staying with us.
No, we do not provide plastic water bottles in the rooms. Instead, guests are supplied with distilled, clean mountain water that is filtered for safety and freshness. We also kindly advise guests not to bring plastic bottles or similar single-use plastics to the resort, in order to support our sustainability efforts and protect the environment.
